Match Report

The As had a very comfortable victory over Lindfield A on the weekend.

The scoring was opened when Bob Armstrong continuing his impressions of the week before, this time performed a credible imitation
of Thierry Henry dancing his way through four Lindfield defenders before slotting past the keeper. James Kissell added an excellent
second with a swiftly taken first time shot with the left foot I believe, before Ben Moreau bundled a third in at the far post.

We struggled slightly in the second half, in my view, playing a few too many long balls, however, Gareth Ratcliffe fired in from
the edge of the area to make it four. Two further goals, one each to Bob Armstrong and James Kissell left committee members fearing
for the precarious financial situation of the club with the daunting prospect of two players claiming the $12.50 match ball.

Bob went closest with a well-timed knee that flew just over. Lindfield clawed one back (actually when we were 5-0 up) despite the
best efforts of Brett Gillespie in goal.

The win took us up to fourth on the table with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses.

Thanks to Dave Wheatley for running the line and John Sneddon for refereeing.

Votes awarded to: James Kissell 3, Bob Armstrong 2, Con Busu 1.
