How to install the Panasonic VFW DV codec

Download the codec: click here

Step 2:

Use "Winzip" ( http://www.winzip.com ) to decompress the ZIP file into it's own folder...

In Windows explorer, Right mouse click on the zip file to open the menu --> Select the Winzip option --> then select the "Extract to folder ... pdvcodec" option

There should now be a new folder called pdvcodec that contains the following files:

These files should be in the pdvcodec folder

Step 3:

Install the codec by doing the following:

Right mouse click on the PANADV.INF file --> Click on Install

You may encounter the following prompt:

Click on the Continue Anyway button

Step 4:

You should now be able to load DV-AVI Type-2 files with VirtualDub (and any other program that loads AVI files)!
