This week has had some big news in strengthing our forward pack for 2010. The signing of SOO prop Ben Ross, the resigning of Scott Geddess on top pf our prior signing of Dave Taylor makes our 2010 forward pack look pretty ominus.
It is round 23 and the scrums continue to be a joke. Players no longer pack in, the ball goes in behind a prop out stretched leg, and the referees continue to coach players on how to pack in without success. Nth Qld has done away with a hooker role and placed a propr in that role.
Souths have stayed alive in quest for the 8 with a great come from behind win against the Sea Eagles. The way we powered over the top of them was great to see. But it was a Manly outfit coming back from a 5 day turn around. We now play the Ttans at full strength.
Our NYC team had a great win over the competition leaders Manly. In a game where they showed they can mix it with the big boys, the won a hard semi final style battle with our scoring ability. Still some work to secure out semifinal position but we are almost there.
What a body blow it was to see Asotasi out again for a extended period. It looks like he will now be out for 6 months, ruling him out of this years semi's and the 4 nations at the end of the year. Now for other boys to step up and take over his role.
