What is the Australian
Tutoring Association?

Following
concerns about the standard of tutoring organizations, the then NSW Minister
for Education, Dr. Andrew Refshauge, wrote to
tutoring organizations in May of 2004 advocating the formation of a
professional body to uphold standards within the industry. Following this and
similar concerns by Ministers for Education in other states the Australian
Tutoring Association (ATA) inc. was formed in 2005. A copy of Dr. Refshauge’s letter is shown below.
The
Australian Tutoring Association (inc) has around 300
members and you can view the full list on the ATA website: www.ata.edu.au. The site also describes the
high ethical standards that ATA members are required to uphold.
