All great religions, in order to escape absurdity, have to admit a dilution of agnosticism. It is only the savage, whether of the African bush or the American gospel tent, who pretends to know the will and intent of God exactly and completely.

 Homosexuality Discussion with REK.

REK:

I guess that my enquiry in this forum is re sex/homosexualtity. Belief in

the bible, satan, etc, as with any, any topic in fact - people usually

'appear' to go the the extreme. Maybe that is the wrong wording - people

'have their particular interests for whatever reason' - yes, that is more

like it. For example, in my personal opinion, regardless of religion,

bibles, god, etc - it seems the homosexual/lesbian community must thrust in our face their belief! Personally I find this offensive. The 'norm' of us

hetros don't go about life instilling our lifestyle on ANYONE. In my

personal opinion the same goes for ethnic races, religions, sexual

preference, etc. Lets all go about just acting normal - (yes i know what is

normal) - but seriously - must we inflict our beliefs - whether founded or

not - on others...................and if so, must we make life so unbearable

that it is in fact uncomfortable for others to be around us? I think not.

Sadly, or gladly, the 'bible' has some down to earth thoughts on all these

matters. Whether u choose to go with it or not does not necessarily matter.

I just think - there are some good standards and morals to TRY and live by. REK

Mike:  G'day REK.  It's always hard to determine what is an extreme.  Most extremists don't see them selves as extreme.  We all thing we're in the middle and normal.  There are good standards in virtually every religion as far as I can see.  But there are some really awful ones too.  The Christian religion is no exception.

REK: Don't think I was getting my point across perhaps. Basically what I am saying is WHY DO GAY PEOPLE HAVE TO GO ON ABOUT IT?

Mike: Who do you know that goes on about it and what do they go on about?

REK: Why do lesbians have to dress/adorn themselves in a certain way? - why do they have Gay MatiGras - when we don't have hetro ones?

Mike: We do have hero Mardi gras. That's how it all started. Then there was an idea to have a gay and lesbian version.

REK: Why do they have to be all over each other in public when the majority of hets don't?

Mike: Does that happen in Ipswich a lot? I've never seen it before.

REK: Finally why, and why should they have children when they can't produce them themselves?????

Mike: Because they want them maybe. There are many people who can't have children for all sorts of reasons that adopt children.

REK: Let me know when a man can give birth - and I will reassess my thoughts on them becoming parents.

Mike: Well, from my understanding, I think it is scientifically possible. I suppose few have been game to do it.

REK: There are so, so many scenarios on this one. Gosh, everyone will

hate this one - if you can't fall pregnant naturally - IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE.

Mike: Who says? Who decides that something is not meant to be. We live in a world where we can make the impossible possible.

REK: IVF and all that is a mega cost to ones self and tax payers - again, to another subject - ADOPT AN ORPHAN FROM OVERSEAS..............................rek

Mike: The people I know who have wanted to do this have been halted in all directions. It is a very difficult process, long and bureaucratic.

A few thoughts to simmer on. Mike
