All great religions, in order to escape absurdity, have to admit a dilution of agnosticism. It is only the savage, whether of the African bush or the American gospel tent, who pretends to know the will and intent of God exactly and completely.

The Da Vinci Code

On Sunday arvo we went to see the Da Vinci Code.  It was a good murder, mystery thriller.  Not sure why people get so upset about movies, because they are only movies.  Wow that was a insightful statement!

However, Ecclesian, after seeing the movie said he didn’t find it blasphemous.  On the other hand, I can see why some Christians object.  Anything that questions the divinity of Jesus or the integrity of the Bible is deemed by many Christians to be blasphemous.

Although the movie is fiction, it does in my opinion, help to raise awareness of the fact that there are many issues to be considered when contemplating the truth and integrity of any religious system.  The Christian faith has evolved and the processes and decisions that have been made throughout history have changed it radically from its simple beginnings.
