The Sims 2 Tips:
These Cheats can help you do things with
the Sims2 That you might not have thought possible.
Use these cheats carefully
and only if you have some understanding that they may cause
undesired effects if not use properly.
Cheats:
To brig down the
drop menu for the cheat codes to be typed in to press
ctrl+shift+c
Zoning:
There's a 'cheat' command you enter when you've selected your new lot: After
Building what you want you can change it to a different Lot zone. This means you
can build a house that you want to be a hotel then after your finish it press
ctrl+shift+c and type changelotzoning community - then save. Now your Sim will
be able to travel here from home and sleep the night, good for a getaway.

Get Accesses to all build Tools:
You may also need a boolprop command that un-disables the tools that are
normally turned off when in build mode on a dorm:
press ctrl+shift+c
and type,
boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false
Dorm Tips:
If your using the above cheats to
build a Dorm there are a few rules you will need to follow to make them work
properly:
* You must have the ShinyTyme cook top and several counter islands in
order to spawn the Cafeteria Worker and get free food.
also you will need a dishwasher
or sink, garbage can or trash compactor and sprinkler in kitchen, lights, and at
least one phone and PC.
*Your fridge must be next to the
cook top, I remodeled one of the Maxis dorms and moved the fridge. My cafeteria
work never showed up so I moved the fridge back in place and things have been
working properly ever since.
*All the dorm room doors must be facing outward in order to work properly
(lock/unlock and claim functions) and only one door per room. Also, doors will
not lock properly if two rooms share a bathroom. I wanted to do suites but
instead had to do mini-suites where the dorm room has a private bath.
Mods and
Moding:
A Mod
is a modification to the game whether it just putting in new stuff in it or changing
the whole game.
With the first Sims
there was a lot of add-on's that could be downloaded off the net to add two your
collection of clothing and items.
Sims 2 Mod Creators have become
greedy and charge, Some site use this money to pay for and run there site
understandably, But some of the sites I believe are overcharging and are unfair
to the ones that can't pay for whatever reason ,
There are one or two sites that have been nice enough to be giving there
made items away free to them I applaud.
Programs and
Tutorials are emerging and it is becoming easier for Sims modellers to make there
stuff.
Using programs like Milkshape 3D
for mesh work and SimPE a program that allows viewing of The
Sims files. You to can make stuff for the Sims 2.
