Last Dreamers guesthouse is the result of a dream long held by Australian Niki Baillie-Jackson - to create a laid-back and welcoming haven for visitors to beautiful Luang Prabang. Niki fell in love with Luang Prabang’s beauty and its people after first travelling here several years ago, and has never looked back; setting out to search for the perfect spot, he soon found what he was looking for: a 100 year old traditional teak house on the Nam Khan River. The house has been classified as part of the Luang Prabang UNESCO world heritage site and has been carefully converted to maintain it‘s original character. It is located directly opposite Wat Phan Luang temple.

While the central part of town is becoming increasingly busy, the traditional Lao village feel of the guesthouse and nearby river make Last Dreamers a delightful place to stay. It is the perfect base for exploring all the richness of Luang Prabang, and is only a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

A stroll away, over the picturesque bamboo bridge into the centre of town, you’ll find the Royal Palace complex, night craft markets and Mekong river restaurants and bars. The Refuge of the Last Dreamers is a sanctuary to return to at the end of your day’s explorations, the perfect spot to sit in the guesthouse garden at sunset with a cold Beer Lao. It offers one of the cheapest room rates in Luang Prabang.

"Oh! What a delightful paradise of idleness this country protects, by the fierce barrier of the stream, against progress and ambition for which it has no need! Will Luang Prabang be, in our century of exact sciences, of quick profits, of victory of money, the refuge of the last dreamers, the last lovers, the last troubadours?"

Marthe Bassene, 1909

Niki would like to welcome you to share his dream, to experience the richness and beauty of Lao life and culture.
