Last News Release re: Dreamscope
Dreamscope is no more. After Gerard leaving to join the army and his copyright issues over the ownership of our music (and other reasons) have caused the 5 of us to leave the name Dreamscope behind. Jim, Matty, Shirley, Stevie and I are going on to form a new band, Arcane.
Dreamscope, a band we formed with Gerard had his influence on key pieces of repertoire. Gerard was not the be all and end all of Dreamscope; however we felt the time for change was now. Regardless of the inevitable arguments, we hope that Gerard takes his talent on to other bands.
We would like to thank every one of our friends who have supported us, you know who you are. Huge thanks to SDTA, Intrepid, Mosaic, The Malt Avesta, Empyrean, Deep Fry, I Shall Envy, Grendel, Spinning Silver, Unamis, Metallurgy, and every other band we gigged with in our two year history.
Above all else, we are the same people, we are still the same guys who invited the members of Powderfinger to one of our gigs, (they didn’t show). The same guys who tried to send a demo to Richard Branson. Arcane will be everything that Dreamscope strove for but couldn’t quite reach.
