MATHER RESEARCH
Our investigations have taken us from a know nothing
but family story, right back to Ayreshire, Scotland
in early 1800s. Our story begins/ends with
and through 5 generations, has spread the world through
to various states of Australia.
We believe that Adam's family fractured in Ayreshire
for reasons yet unknown and may have been the 2nd
family member to emigrate to Australia. Before taking
this long venture, he married Charlotte Cameron 15
July 1851 which begs the question if this was also
a marriage of convenience. Modern marriages today
are normally performed on a weekend. This convenience
may at first not be what our minds first believe it
to be once we take into consideration later events.
The date in question turns out to be a Tuesday. Although
not totally bizarre, my wife and I were married on
a Tuesday. This was purposeful as it was Valentine's
Day, and we wanted a day worthy of rememberance. What
if Adam and Charlotte also wanted a day to remember;
not because it was their marriage, but because there
was something more purposeful behind the event.
