"His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known
to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 3:10)

(1) Submissive to Christ "And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church" (Ephesians 1:22)
"Christ is the head of the church, his body, of whom he is the Saviour ... the church submits to Christ" (Ephesians 5:23-24)

(2) Gifted by God "Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church" (1 Corinthians 14:12)
"But each has a particular gift from God, one having one kind and another a different kind." (1 Corinthians 7:7 NRSV)

(3) Built on the apostles "And I tell you that you are Peter (Peter means rock), and on this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of Hades (or hell) will not overcome it." (Matthew 16:18)

(4) Belonging to God "Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God;
once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." (1 Peter 2:10)

(5) Proclaiming the truth "The church of the living God [is] the pillar and foundation of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15)
"And you were also included in Christ when you heard the truth, the gospel of your salvation." (Ephesians 1:13)

(6) Nurturing the young "The promise is for you and your children and for all whom are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:39)
"Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good.
In your teaching, show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned ..." (Titus 2:6-8)
