 Goldfire's Revenge

Welcome to my webpage for the ExecFTP Server for the PlayStation 2. Last update took place on the 07/01/2007.

Everything hosted on my website has been compressed with WinRAR, you can download WinRAR from Here.

This guide was written for ExploitStation. Many more guides regarding PlayStation 2 hacking can be found there.

This is the second tutorial I wrote for ExploitStation. This is for people having problems with Exec FTP. Exec FTP is a File Transfer Protocol program which, once executed on on your PS2, will make PS2 act like an FTP server. This guide will work best if you have PS2-Menu-K installed, which I will explain how to install the ExecFTP program in detail with.

Tools needed:

  • 1 PlayStation 2 + PS2-Menu-K
  • 1 Blank CD-R
  • 1 PlayStation 2 8MB Memory Card
  • 1 PlatStation 2 Network Adapter
  • 1 HDD
  • WinRAR

  • Here is the link to the files need - Download.

You'll also need Flash FXP, this is an FTP client. You can use any client, although some clients have errors when trying to connect with ExecFTP. I recommend using Flash FXP

Once you have both of these files, extract the ExecFTP program to a folder, the folder can be anything as long as you know where it is. Make sure you install Flash FXP before continuing.

Before we continue, we must make sure you have the correct settings for your network connection to your PS2, there are multiple ways to get to the settings, but I'll show you the way that most users can do without any trouble.

Click on Start then right click on My Network Places and go to Properties. Locate the connection to the PS2, right click and go to Properties. Scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Click on Use the following IP. For the IP Address, type in 192.168.0.1 and the Subnet Mask type in 255.255.255.0

You'll need to obtain Nero for the next step, you can download a trial version from Here. Run Nero Express and chose Data > Data Disc. See figure below:

You'll then see the following screen:

Click on Add and locate the files that were extracted earlier from the ExecFTP WinRAR archive. Add them to Nero Express. See figure below:

Click next, leave everything and set the burning speed to the slowest and click Burn.

Once the CD is done, turn on your PS2 with PS2 Menu-K running. Once you are in PS2 Menu-K you’ll see the following:

Press R1 and chose MC0: You must choose the Memory Card to store the ExecFTP program, otherwise you won’t be able to use the HDD to transfer files.

Press Start on the controller and chose New Dir. See figure below:

Put in the name of Exec FTP and chose ENTER when done. See figure below:

    You'll see the following:

Press Triangle to set this folder to copy the files to. Change the CD over with the copied CD that has ExecFTP on it. Press R1 and select CDFS and press X, as shown in the following:

You’ll then see the following with the files you copied earlier to the CD-R:

Highlight each file and press Triangle to copy the file over one-by-one to the MC0: location you made earlier (ExecFTP). Once done, press R1 and chose MC0: again, locate the ExecFTP folder you made, press X to enter the folder, and execute EXECFTPS.ELF. See figure below:

Run Flash FXP, you’ll see the following:

Press F6 to bring up the Options menu, click on the Options tab at the top and uncheck Cache Directories, click OK. Press F8 to open the Quick Connect menu, type in the IP Address of the PS2, 192.168.0.10 and press Connect. See figure below:

You should now be connected to the PS2 FTP server; you’ll also see the HDD, MC and PFS.

Press Control + R to bring up the Raw Command menu, type in SITE MNT /pfs/0 hdd:PS2MENU-K MC Backup as shown below, you can type in something else after the HDD: command if you want to access a different part of the HDD.

Now, double click on PFS, then double click on 0, you should now see the contents of the PS2 Menu-K Backup folder, you may chose anything else as long as it’s a real folder. I store all my files on the PS2 Menu-K Backup folder though, which might be easier anyway. You may also access the memory card by double clicking on MC and double clicking on 0.

NOTE: If nothing appears, try refreshing the folder by pressing F5 or going up one level and going back into the folder again until something appears.

Once you have finished with the transfer, press Control + R to bring the Raw Command menu back up and type in SITE UMNT /pfs/0/

This will un-mount the HDD partition so no files will be corrupt when disconnecting, this process is a must.

When you are finished transferring files, click the disconnect button next to the red abort button. Restart your PS2, you’ll now have the files on your PS2.
