We
had our first two Australian Mists (Limpet and Turbo) for over
nine years, and enjoyed their company through many
moves from Sydney to south western Victoria, near Warrnambool and
finally to Adelaide. We're
located about 30 kilometres out from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills near
the Onkaparinga River.
Ongarra was the name of the old
farmstead near Panmure, set in dairy
country, near Mount Warrnambool. Now we have moved to South
Australia but we have kept the name of the farm. Both the
cattery and the alpacas carry the name Ongarra.
In 1999 we decided to take on breeding the Australian Mist cats - with the
addition of Eirene to the family, now in 2004 many litters later we have
decided to not breed anymore. Instead we will promote the breed
and provide a contact for those who are interested in the breed.
Presently we looking for good homes for Eirene and her sons, Pouncer, Nicky,
Faramir, Titus and Scutus.
Our mist cats live indoor, with the option of going
outside whenever they like - into the Catnip Modular Park
(click here - Links page) and not
disturbing the abundant native bird-life around our home.
