The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award is a national competition conducted through Australian Secondary Schools and Colleges for competitors aged 12 to 14 years. The competition began in Melbourne in 1988and commenced as a national competition in 1995. The aim of the LJPS Award is to enhance students’ oral communication and public speaking skills of 12 to 14 -year-old students and to help young people appreciate the ideals of Legacy - voluntary service, caring and comradeship - and the need for remembrance. In Queensland the Award is conducted in conjunction with Education Queensland and is for eligible students in line with similar programs in other States. Two state finalists will progress to a National Final held later in the year. The Award is conducted in Queensland by Legacy in conjuction with Education Queensland. |
