Lithgow Small Arms Factory
Museum
This museum contains the most
comprehensive display of Small Arms and other Artefact in Australia. Together with the exhibits there is a detailed
expose of the history and people that engaged in the design and manufacture of
the weapons that the factory produced and the roles these weapons played in Australia’s
conflicts overseas. The museum occupies
two floors of the original main office and the top floor is accessed by stairs.
We will assemble at Epping
Station at 8.15 am to catch the train that departs platform 2 at 8.32 am to
Strathfield. At Strathfield we transfer
from platform 5 to platform 6 and join the 8.57 am train to Westmead Station, Here
we will remain on the platform for the Blue Mountain’s
train at 9.16 am. This train is
scheduled to arrive at Lithgow at 11.17 am.
The route 100 bus will arrive at 11.51 am and it will drop us of at the
Museum at around midday. The museum tour will take about an hour and a light
lunch of home-prepared sandwiches will be provided by the Museum staff. The lunch cost is $15 per head and it
includes tea or coffee.
It is anticipated that the
return journey will get us back to Epping at 6.25 pm.
