VICTORIA SET

This set originates from the Cork/Kerry border area. This edition was derived from Volume 6 of the video series "The Magic of Irish Set Dancing" featuring Timmy McCarthy. Figure 7, "Crown the Lady", has been revived after a period of 70 years. The dance is performed in the Old Style with Slide and Reel. Joe O'Hara has a version of the Victoria Set online. The Brooks Academy also has an online version of the Victoria Set, however their version has only 5 figures: 4 Slides and a Reel.

FORMATION

Set is numbered clockwise with First Top Couple with their backs to the band. First Side Couple is on the left of First Top Couple (facing into the set). Second Top Couple are opposite First Tops, and Second Sides are on the right of First Tops.
