Travelling from Oetz Austria to Bratislava, Slovakia

It was an early morning start for some, those who where going to paddle the Oetz River before breakfast. All started well but a bit of carnage on the way, with Ben Jones, Ben Parson and Craig Borrows having to haul their boats out after hitting a couple of rocks. All got back safely, some repairs required before we hit the water at Bratislava.

After breakfast we packed, cleaned up and left Oetz for our journey to Bratislava. A long drive along the motorways, approximately 7 hrs. We drove via, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Linz and Wein. We stopped at Altersee (a beautiful lake side town) and had lunch on the waters edge. (See the photos in the Gallery).

We arrived in Bratislava to find out that our accommodation was 20km the other side of city in Samorin-Cilistov. We are staying at the Hotel Kormoran, recently refurbished, nice rooms, everybody seemed to enjoy the evening meal.

After dinner it was boat repair time. A number of boats needed repair from the early morning jaunt down the Oetz.
