Day 18: 4/7/05
Well this morning started very well with everyone
up by 7.30am and packed and loaded by 8.30am. Then
we could eat our continental breakfast. Once we did
that we split, the coaches and the kids went to the
supermarket and Geoff and Farrah went to pay Robbie
J's hospital bill which worked out to be 338kc which
is = to about $12 aussie!
We finally got to leave Ceske Budejovice at about
11:30am for the exciting trip to Slovenia via Austria
and the top right hand corner of Italy. The drive
was fairly uneventful except for a traffic jam outside
of Salzburg, waiting for two lanes to merge into one
for the first tunnel. Cannot believe some of the distance
we travelled in tunnels on our way down to Slovenia.
Emmie draw the short straw when she lost at cards
in the lead wagon, she had to navigate after we left
the motorways and wound our way through the bottom
of Austria into Italy and Slovenia. Only one wrong
turn, a job well done Em. The drive down through the
Soca valley in Slovenia was breath taking, scenery
was magnificent. Once we arrive in Nova Gorica we
realised that we could of caught the auto barn straight
to Slovenia and walked one minute and we would be
in Italy.
We arrived at the accommodation at about 8.30pm and
had dinner straight away, but the team wasn't very
fussed on dinner compared to what we have had the
past few weeks. Then we got allocated our rooms, which
were the wrong ones at the start then we got moved
upper class and across the hallway to a much nicer
sweet then the first ones we originally had been allocated.
Then we all settled ready for a great and successful
training session tomorrow sometime!
Cheers Farrah
