Day 14 - 30/06/05
Well our first day of rain, we woke up to the rain
on the roof at the Praha course. An early morning
session for some of the team, the others elected to
sleep in and give the session a miss. Off the water
for a 9:00 am breakfast for all, a quick meeting and
a clean up and exit the rooms. All were out by 11am.
Pack the car for the 2.5 hours drive to Ceske Budejovice.
We left Prague at about 12:15pm and drove across town
and headed into the country side.
About an hour down the road at Tabor we
decided to stop for a quick shop at the local supermarket
and to have lunch before continuing. An hour down the
road we came to Ceske Budejovice, the usual procedure,
lets pull over and find out where we are going. Well
another surprise we are not in Ceske Budejovice, but
in the historic town of Hluboka (on the outskirts of
Ceske B.)and which is overshadowed by HLUBOKA castle.
Well a quick unpack of the gear and intoour rooms and
down to the course. The course is about 5km away from
where we are staying, the course is at Ceske Vrbne.
As you can see everything in the area starts Ceske,
We got to the course at 5pm, two hours
of paddling left before the water goes off, yes another
artificial course. What a pretty spot the course is
in, the locals are so friendly, two of the local paddlers
have been assigned to our team to show us around if
we wish. A small shed has been allocated to us and the
American development team to store our boats on site.
All on the water for a quick, get to know, the water
session, all had good sessions with a number of the
tream indicating it was a fun course.
At 7pm we headed back to our accommodation
and thoughts drifted towards what we would have for
dinner. I got out in the main street of Hluboka and
went in search of a restaurant that billed by credit
card. We found a nice little restaurant in the town
and away we went for dinner. A quick feed and back home
to hit the sheets for a good nights sleep. An 8 o'clock
breakfast in the morning and down to the course for
a short session on the water before the weekends racing.

Cheers once again from me. Catch up again
later.
