Day 11:- 27/6/05
Travelling from Bratislava to Praha
Well it was a sleep-in morning with breakfast
scheduled for 8:30am. A quick breakfast and we were
ready to get our gear out of the rooms and packed in
the vehicles. We were all packed and on the road by
10:30am. First stop was the Vajda factory in Bratislava
to have a look through the factory and pick up a boat.
The factory visit was interesting, we had a bit of a
look around, all boats were being made by hand, a very
manual process. Tim and Tom bought some straps for their
boat and I purchased some resin for the repair kit.
We left the factory about 12:15 pm and
headed out of Bratislava for Brno. We needed a Motorway
pass for all there vehicles in Slovakia and then when
we crossed the border into Czech Republic we had to
purchase another 3 motorway passes. The windscreen seems
to be getting covered with Motorway passes from different
countries. We had lunch in a park just over the border
in Czech Republic. a quick feed and we were off again.
Finally we arrived in Praha around 4:45pm, just in time
to get on the water for a quick session. We have settled
into our accommodation in the boathouse, seems fine.
Its great to be right on the waters edge. After training
we took off to find somewhere to eat, finally we found
a nice Chinese restaurant and had a great meal for next
to nothing (great for the budget). After dinner Justin
and I went in search of a Supermarket to get some supplies
for the morning, this is the first day we have had to
source our own breakfast. Well we finally found Tesco,
but we were unsure of whether we could find our way
back to the Boathouse, finally got home at 12:20 am.
I am writing this diary entry at 1:30am,
after our return from the supermarket.
Cheers for now; Geoff
