All three composers cite individual local virtuosic performers who specialise in contemporary music as catalysts for
certain works - pianists Robert Zocchi for Peterson's Walking on Glass and Simon Docking for Hindson's
AK-47, violist Vince Parsonage for Greenbaum's An Angel Bowed Backwards (which also exists in a version
for cello and piano), and guitarist Ken Murray for Hindson's Mace. Impetus from literary genres has also been
important - a novel and poetry for Peterson's pieces and Greenbaum's Angel.
