Greenbaum ~ Hindson ~ Peterson : CD
|
|
Digital, stereo : 1 h. 11 min.
Recording level : DDD.
|
There is a sense of immediacy about the works featured on this recording. Whilst for the most part eschewing adherance
to the dictates of academic modernism, all three composers have absorbed what they need from avant garde techniques.
Yet just as important for Hindson and Greenbaum in particular is the postmodern breakdown of the traditional divide
between 'high' and 'low' art. Current underground death-metal and techno genres are a major element in Hindson's style:
contemporary pop and jazz rock/funk are absorbed intto Greenbaum's writing; and minimalist techniques are perceivable in
his and Peterson's work.
