Jan Thompson.
Is enjoying life in her new
environment brought about by the passing of the years. She has made her
partner George part of the act. George wows the oldies with his broad
repertoire of evergreen ballads. His delightful demeanor and presentation
creates a happy rapport with the many audiences. Retirement Villages,
Hostels and Clubs look forward to yet another presentation by this Duo.
George Williams.
I became interested in Music when I was about 18 years old. I won a
talent quest and this started the urge to sing. Over the years I met
so many great people in show business such as Howard Keel, Darryl
Stewart and I was in a movie with Anne Baxter, Angela Lansbury, Ernest
Borgnine and Sir John Mills, at Luna Park. The film was called ‘The
Summer of the 17th Doll'. Through the years, I have sung at many
talent Quests and won a few. Have sung at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney,
2KY, 2SM, have composed many songs, one of which I sent to Bing
Crosby. Bing was kind enough to write to me and thank me. The song
‘Ridin’ the Trail’ did not take off.
Since I met Jan, the
pianist, we have performed at many shopping centres, R.S.L. clubs,
Nursing homes, and Retirement Villiages. I love what I am doing and
God Willing will continue to do so. Jan and I do Sacred Music concerts
at local churches. |
