SYNOPSIS

JIM CRANKLEPOT (45) owner of the Happy Holiday Department Store is anything but jolly. He hates Christmas; he is your typical scrooge. He owns the only holiday store that doesn't decorate, nor does he ever have a holiday sale. His son TOM (12) wants only one thing for Christmas. He wants his mother and father to get back together.

Cranklepot not only has family issues, but he is about to lose his store to Dumpster Development unless he can come up with money for the bank on Christmas eve.

Meanwhile in the North Pole a LOUD SNEEZE,(pepper corn chips) blows the main elf SNOWBALL (72) off his tiny feet. It's a disaster; SANTA CLAUS (336), a weight critical worker is to overweight to work and Christmas is only weeks away. Snowball hitches a ride with the joke telling RUDOLPH in search of the magic Christmas Book.

Snowball learns he must find a suitable Santa Claus replacement to save Christmas. All he has to do is cast a spell. Excited Snowball rushes off before he hears the warning: if he picks the wrong Santa replacement - anyone who hates Christmas - only the citizens will see the replacement as Santa but the chosen one will see himself as normal.

Snowball lands in town and immediately hears Cranklepot yelling about Christmas and Santa. Thinking Cranklepot is the right man for the job, Snowball casts the spell. Everyone sees Cranklepot's transformation into Santa except Cranklepot!

Looking like Santa, Cranklepot goes home. His estranged wife Jane calls the police. The police arrest Cranklepot. The real Santa Claus is beside himself - SNOWBALL! Realizing he can bail out Cranklepot for 1000 bucks, Snowball literally gives the police 1000 bucks aka reindeers!

Cranklepot "escapes" from jail and Snowball takes him to the North Pole to meet the real Santa but he doesn't believe in Christmas or Santa Claus. The real Santa orders him to leave. Leaving Snowball angrily tells Santa to lose weight because if he fails to convert Cranklepot, there will be no Christmas!

Cranklepot meets a homeless man MICHAEL a worker he fired who still see's him as who he is. Leaving Snowball jumps in to find out why he hates Christmas so much. Cranklepot felt neglected by his own father who never took the time to have his picture with Santa Claus. He lost his Christmas spirit and cancelled Christmas.

Meanwhile in the North Pole Santa pulls a sleigh over a snow covered mound. Sitting in the sleigh are a couple of ELVES and a reindeer.

Snowball learns that he can't make Cranklepot believe as it must come from the heart. Cranklepot finally learns that the only way he can make things right is to believe. He finally sees his reflection as Santa! Cranklepot knows how to save the store. He'll have a Christmas sale. Sneaking back to the store before opening time he barricades himself inside the office and tries to orchestrate the sale from behind closed doors. Jane and Tom want to get to the bottom and climb up the outside fire escape to learn the truth. In a heartfelt moment the truth is revealed. Teaming up with Jane, Tom, Michael and his Staff they plan the biggest one day sale in the stores history.

With the imminent opening of the sale Cranklepot suddenly becomes himself which is another setback, CHILDREN want Santa! Tom, knowing an old box he discovered in an old unused storeroom contains a Santa Claus suit. Cranklepot, in his office, reveals a turned around picture of himself as a little boy sitting on Santa's lap, Santa was his father! His father loved him after all.

The real Santa Claus appears to help with the sale, he's lost weight, and he is so pleased he invites Snowball to help deliver the toys....all part of Snowball's big adventure.
