A rare sighting for Queensland, Australia.
A Hooded Plover (Thinornis rubricollis) was recorded on xx/xx/2010 on sandbanks in the estuary of the Noosa River on the Sunshine Coast in SE Queensland. The bird stayed for several weeks and then disappeared to “who knows where”.

While the bird was at Noosa many birdwatchers were able to add the species to their  list and, sometimes, take photos as the bird change from juvenile plumage to almost adult.
