| The Australian ballooning
season runs from March to November, the cooler months of the southern
hemisphere's year, although some flying goes on all year round the
cooler months with their stable breezes are considered safer than
summer.
Easter sees Australian balloonists attending various regional club meets. In New South Wales this usually means Griffith or Leeton in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA), or Canowindra, on the western slopes 300km west of Sydney. Photo Les Springett |
