ICAN Training Services

ICAN designs and runs highly successful technical and skills based training courses at a national level.

In association with the CRC for Australian Weed Management and with support from the Grains Research and Development Corporation, ICAN has designed and delivered a nationally accredited and widely acclaimed training module on 'Integrated Weed Management for farm advisers'. Some 350 advisers have completed the 2-day workshop component, with many of these progressing onto accreditation. A one-day version of this same workshop is also currently being delivered to growers. Workshops have also been developed on the role of aeration drying in on-farm storages (for growers) and in 2002, ICAN co-ordinated a national series of workshops for farm advisers on TT Canola stewardship requirements.

Other courses run by ICAN include presentation and group facilitation skills. A several day workshop on herbicides for new farm advisers is also under development.

John Cameron has a certificate IV in workplace training and assessment and is a registered ChemCert trainer.
