HIE applies advanced computer-aided engineering analysis techniques such as three-dimensional solids modelling, finite element analysis FEA, and multi-body techniques, crash simulations, as well as digital imaging and video analysis, in developing elegant, engineering-based solutions. These processes can be applied to research projects, product development, data analysis, accident investigation and litigation.

Design

HIE offers support in all aspects in the design of engineering systems, with a special emphasis on injury prevention and mitigation. We have a unique understanding of current vehicle design methodology and techniques for the design of protective equipment, including helmets, neck devices, and protective clothing, and vehicle occupant safety systems such as restraints, vehicle interiors and structures.
