Bachelor of Engineering (Full Time) Chemical
Job Description: .NET Developer (Contract)
Duration: July 2004
This project involved helping Mr Sugdinis write the "NetCrawler" application which quickly returns the hopcount for several thousand computers on a network. With this information, we generated a report that told management where they need to make site boundary adjustments to their network. The customer was Verizon and they have about 3,000 subnets on their intranet. Of those 3,000 subnets, there are about 156,000 Windows based computers and servers that the application identifies via SMS 2003. This application now runs on Microsoft's 228 SMS servers spread out around the world.
The technologies used in this project were C# (.NET Framework v1.1) and SQL Server 2000.
Job Description: .NET Developer
Duration: August 2003 (Ongoing)
This is my own personal project which aims to help the .NET community by providing tools that enhance the functionality of the .NET Framework. The components are primarily developed using C#. VB.NET is also used for samples on how to use each component.
These components have been purchased by a number of companies and individuals world wide.
Product details, customers and their testimonials can be found on my Web Site at http://users.tpg.com.au/hbk02542.
Job Description: Network Support (Contract)
Duration: December 2003 to February 2004
The Edium position involved the day to day maintenance of Ediums' client networks including printer and PC installations and configurations, Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 (including Microsoft Exchange Server) support.
Job Description: Software Developer (Full Time)
Duration: March 1997 to May 2002
At Adinfo, a small software company specialising in the development of a large accounting package for the Advertising Industry, I was one of two programmers. I was solely responsible for the Web and Windows side of programming. The software was installed on many advertising web sites and included some of the biggest names in the business.
Primary responsibilities included the research, development, testing, documentation, deployment, training and the ongoing support of Windows and Web based products using the following technologies:
ASP, IIS, Visual Basic 5.0/6.0, COM, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, CSS, IBM UniVerse SQL, ADO, VBA (Excel, Word), Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer, MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface), Symantec WinFax Pro, Microsoft Chart Control, Intel JPEG Library.
Other responsibilities included maintaining the internal network and providing client support on their network related issues as they applied to the Adinfo System.
Job Description: Scripting/Coding (Contract)
Duration: May 2003 to July 2003
At Intense Technology I was responsible for keeping client websites up to date by adding requested features and modifications.
Client websites were developed using ASP/VBScript at the server end and JavaScript and CSS at the client end.
For example, Restaurant & Catering New South Wales, frequently requested new "Industry News" items to be added to their website, for viewing by their members.
Once the additions and/or modifications were made, the client was notified by e-mail for their approval.
Department: Electronic Information Design - Electronic Forms
Job Description: Scripting/Coding (Contract)
Duration: June 2002 & October 2002
At the CBA (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) I was responsible for converting paper-based forms to ASP or PDF documents depending on client specifications. The converted forms were then posted to the CBA's intranet site for client access.
The ASP pages were scripted using JavaScript and CSS. Server side VBScript was used to format the posted data and to e-mail the results to the appropriate individual.
PDF forms were designed using Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer and scripted using Adobe Acrobat's JavaScript model. These forms were used for filling in and printing.
I was also able to provide useful consultation on ASP and JavaScript to considerably reduce turnaround on forms development due to my extensive experience in these areas.

Testimonial
"Bill is great to work with on C# coding projects. He is a stickler for good documentation, fast turnaround, and consistent audits; all of which are attributes that make him a great resource to work with. Bill's BKTraceRoute and BKPing C# apps are most helpful as well."
