COBRA GENERATORS ™
HIGH QUALITY PORTABLE GENERATORS

Cobra Generators are very compact with all controls easilt accessible.

These new portable generators are designed and built to power critical loads, single phase or three phase, if the main supply fails - so they will usually be at your switchboards except when you need completely portable power elsewhere.

Cobra Generators have two means of starting in case one fails - automatic decompression pull start and electric jump-start from the batteries in your vehicles. They come with a good range of spares and accessories including Cobra Cables designed and built for jump-starting in the most demanding situations.

Cobra Generators can supply a broad range of critical loads almost anywhere, at any time, 24 hours a day for weeks or months if necessary,

E.g. Single phase 240 Volt, 7 kW, 50 Hz (3,000 RPM) Three-phase 240/415 Volt, 7.5 kW, 50 Hz (3,000 RPM).
3,600 RPM produces 60 Hz - about 10 kVA at 0.8 power factor. 12 Volt battery charging - 12 Amps direct current.

At 860 x 700 x 940 mm high and about 160 kg, these are about the smallest generators that can produce power of reasonable quality - smaller generators risk damaging expensive equipment, and anything much bigger would not be portable.

Most small generating sets have many shortcomings such as excessive Voltage variations sufficient to damage sensitive equipment, short-life splash-lubricated engines, inadequate speed control, unsafe protection against electrocution if an appliance's insulation fails, and inability to be safely and legally connected to house wiring if the main supply fails. The high quality engineered into Cobra Generators adequately overcomes all these problems and they are fit for duty in life-threatening situations, life-support systems and field hospitals.

Cobra Gernerators have extendable handles so that they can be easily moved on hard surfaces, by one person.

In an emergency, easy starting and reliability are paramount so Cobra Generators have air-cooled petrol engines - very high quality V-twins with pressure lubrication. Equally high quality alternators are bolted directly to the engines so there are no connecting belts or gears to drain power or catch clothes. The design life is 2,000 hours: a lifetime in emergency use. The 23-litre petrol tank is big enough to run the generator on load all night without having to wake someone up to refuel. An auxiliary 5-litre petrol tank adds to the fuel capacity and provides safer fuel handling. Metering includes fuel level, hours run and speed/frequency. The hours run meters indicate when you should do necessary planned maintenance. Additional core-balance protection against electrocution is activated when the general-purpose power outlets are used.

Note: The 5-Wire Three Phase Outlet: Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Neutral and earth.

The direct-from-producer price in Australian dollars excluding taxes and delivery is $7,800. ($8,580 excluding delivery and including 10% GST).
