This web site is principally to allow visitors to explore my family history. I am resident in Lindfield, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. I have been interested in family history for about 40 years and have accumulated much data on my ancestors and their descendants.
Use with caution!
Some of that data relating to the Schott branch of my family tree is elsewhere on this web site. It has been accumulated from many sources – information from cousins and other relatives, a number of them with doubtful memories; books; parish registers; family bibles/records; newspapers; old "birthday books"; electoral rolls; civil registrations; various archives; etc. The search for further information continues, so this is very much "work in progress" and does not purport to be authoritative. It simply reflects the state of my knowledge about the individuals mentioned when the site was constructed – I may by now have further information not available on this site.
I would like to hear from anyone with amendments, additions or deletions to suggest. Please take care in relying upon names and dates that are not complete, as these are more likely to have as their source someone's search of a birth, baptism, death, burial or marriage index, without sighting a full certificate of the event. But even those with full dates etc may be subject to transcription error – ultimately, the only way to be sure of something is to sight that certificate yourself! And even they sometimes record something incorrectly!!

I have not included data (other than names) in respect of anyone I know to be alive, or likely to be alive. I certainly have no intention of invading anyone's privacy or of causing distress to anyone listed, or to their families. Please let me know if you have any concerns in that respect.
You are welcome to draw freely upon the data available on this site when you are putting together your own family tree, but the data in bulk is not to be published by others without permission and I have reserved all rights in it. If the information on this site makes a significant contribution when you put together your own family tree or web site, an acknowledgment of that would be appreciated. If you wish to link this site to another, please ask me first.
