El Sentir del Tango
Argentine Tango Workshops in Australia
El Sentimiento es Todo - The Feeling is Everything
About Our Tango
- Our Style
- Milonguero
- Milonguero style is also known as Close Embrace Tango. The Tango originated in Argentina. Due to the popularity of the dance, the close embrace style was developed to enable many dancers to move in small spaces.
The couple dance in a hug like position and together they feel the music, the connection, the body movement and the movement on the dance floor to create the Tango. The feeling of working together to create is magic.
- Our Teaching
- Our Methods
- Our Workshops are stuctured and methodical with the aim to maximise your enjoyment of learning. We break things down into simple tasks and create new ways for you to remember and practice the basic techniques. We aim to get your best out of you in a short time to enable you to confidently join on the dance floor with just the simple things initially.
- Our Passions
- We are passionate about the feeling of the tango, hence the Name 'El Sentir del Tango' which means the Feel of the Tango.
When danced correctly and simply, you can create the magical feeling where you get lost in the music, the feeling and the creation of the dance.
We would love to share the simple things with you that will help you to achieve the Feeling of the Tango.
- About Us
- Gary
- I have been dancing Argentine Tango now for about 10 years. My passion for the tango took me to Buenos Aires where I lived, danced and studied the close embrace style with the Porteños (locals) for 14 months.
- I am reasonably well known around the local milongas in Brisbane. I love to dance Milongas (fast tango) and Valses (Tango Waltz) and any other styles, not just tango, where the music makes me want to dance.
- I love the connection of the couple, the way you can move together and work together to create the feeling.
- Madonna
- Madonna is my partner and assistant. She is a beautiful follower and wonderful partner. She was a professional dancer early in her career and now works with people from all walks of life, including professional dancers, to improve their techniques and their freedom of movement.
Madonna has been dancing tango for about 2½ years during which time she also visited Buenos Aires to experience the real Argentinian Tango.
