Yes folks, that's right... Cane Toads!
A little bit of background on the Cane Toad...
- Queensland’s #1 feral pest and unofficial
state mascot.
- Ünmitigated disaster for the ecology and
environment.
- Ugly, stupid, dangerous and likes to sit in the
middle of the road.
- North Queensland roads are covered in flat cane
toads.
- To most people, there could be nothing more repulsive
and worthless than a flat, dry, crusty 2 week dead Cane
Toad, right?
- Perfect...
At its core Toadscape involves the careful
selection of only the very finest squashed Cane Toads available
on the highways and byways of North Queensland, the gluing
of these attractive and valuable artifacts onto primed artboard
and their subsequent transformation with brush and paint into
objects of High Art.
The most frequently asked question at this point
is usually, " Why Dead Cane Toads?"
