Experiment: Microwaved Lettuce
Ladies and gentlemen of BDU (and now, of the Specimen Sample), here we have it... The complete instructions / experiment for microwaving lettuce. No longer do you have to live oblivious to the results of this experiment! Yay...
Important notes:
1. My microwave is very, very old. It's not even 2nd hand, it's 3rd hand. So, my microwave time setting may differ slightly from yours...
2. I had nothing better to do with my day.
Here we go, the actual experiment.
Aim: to find out what happens to lettuce when you cook it in the microwave
Equipment: Microwave that works, lettuce
Method:
On bread/toast
With fruit
With chocolate biscuits
Results / Conclusion type of thing: The lettuce turned crisp and dry. When you put lettuce in the microwave, the moisture is removed from the lettuce. Because lettuce is over 90% water, this doesn't really leave much... So you're left with a crispy plant fibre substance that feels similar to tissue paper.
