A bunch of pictures from other holidays. I guess we think they look nice.
We hope you do too! :)

- The next five photos were taken by Akiko in 1994, when she backpacked around Paris,
living on chocolate and rice-crackers. This first photo is a view from the Chaillot
Palace towards the Eiffel Tower.
- Well. Guess what. (This looks much better than the current version, which
has a tacky "Year2000" countdown clock on it - ugh.)
- From the Rodin Museum..."The Kiss". Mmmm. Yum.

- Another of Akiko's photos from '94. These next three photos are from Louvre - this
first one is the famous Nike. Or something like that.
- The even more famous Venus. Famous enough that we are sure of the name.
- This is the "Psyche ranimee par le baiser de l'Amour", also from the Louvre.
I took this one on our honeymoon trip. I have no idea what the title means,
but I'm sure it tells a terribly tragic and/or romantic tale.

- The statue at the top of the Grand Palais, Paris.
- Invalides - Paris.
- A shot of London Tower.

- Not as exotic as the above, this photo is from North Stradbroke Island, not far off from
Brisbane. It's meant to be a beautiful little island, good for a bit of exploring
and 4-wheel driving. We beg to differ. We couldn't wait to get off the place.
But anyway, here's a view off one of the cliffs. Some of the apparent depth
of the picture has been lost here, but it looked quite a long way down at the time!
And the sun was setting, which made for nice lighting.

Here's some photo's taken on 31/10/99. It was a rather nice drug company junket -
one of the few in which the spouse is also invited - to a place called Kangaroo point,
which was about 1.5 hours south of Newcastle. From there were took a ferry...
The day was rather overcast and little drizzly, unfortunately. Anyway, the ferry
took us about 30 minutes up the Hawkesbury river to an island, where there was a rather
nice restaurant/conference centre. There we indulged in a yummy lunch (and I had to
listen to a lecture).
The whole area here was rather interesting. There seem to be a whole series of
islands without any land bridges, so the area is serviced entirely by boat - there's the
Water Police, a Water Doctor, and even a School Boat to collect the children.
