Eclectic 2009

ECLECTIC RULES - 2009

Our eclectic works this way: When a player, plays in any single stroke/stableford event their score on each hole is compared to previous rounds in the year. The lowest score made on each hole is recorded, producing an 18-hole score. Example: A player plays three games of golf; in game 1, the player makes a 6 on the 1st hole; in game 2, a 4 on the 1st hole; and in game 3, a 7 on the 1st hole. The player's eclectic score for the first hole is the lowest of these 3 scores, which is a 4.

While the first hole may be a par 5 on some courses or a par 3 or 4 on others, this is the same condition for all who play so no allowance is made. The more you play the better your chances to attain a low score for each hole.

Entry is free and automatic to all financial members, and there is no requirement to play in all rounds.

The competition will be over all single stroke events (i.e. stroke, stableford etc) in 2009 and concluding at Toowoomba City Golf Club on the 25th October.

Handicap will be 50% of your club handicap (at 1st November 2009). The handicap will be deducted from the final composite total of all rounds you have played.

In the interest of fast play we have encouraged players to pickup after 9 strokes or when they can't score a point (except in championship rounds). Therefore if no score has been recorded against a hole, then a score of 9 will be inserted. There is no need to complete each hole unless you need to in the competition of the day

Prizes are awarded to best gross and best nett winner and runner-up. Same person can not win both categories. Trophies will be presented on presentation night on 28th November 2009.
