Who are we?
The Sunnybank Community Social Golf Club has a membership of around 60 of which about 48 persons play each game. Our members are a fun loving, sociable group of golfers who get together for a competitive game of golf about every 3 weeks. Our membership consists of male and females, ranging from juniors to seniors with varying abilities ranging from new players to seasoned golfers.
Club handicaps give everyone an equal chance of having their winning day. The club allows maximum handicaps of 36 for men and 45 for women, so that players who are just finding their feet in the game don't feel totally outclassed in our competitions. We have 3 grades in our competitions with the handicaps per grade evaluated yearly depending on the makeup of our members handicaps.
We just want to play golf!
The Club arranges a full programme, playing different courses around Brisbane.
Members are not obligated to play in any particular games, just the ones that appeal to them, although they need to have played a minimum number of games to be eligible for certain annual Club events and awards.
Who is the Club for?
The Club especially appeals to social golfers (individuals, couples & families) who aren't attracted by the formalities of a large club, but who like the idea of:
Testing their game in friendly competition
Trying a variety of different courses
Not being committed to playing when they don't want to
