What does your Future hold for you, will it be a repeat of your past?

Will your Future be a repeat of your past?

For thousands of years, people have wanted to know what the future has in store for them. Every decision we take, would be so much easier if it could be made with the benefit of hindsight.

If we already knew what was going to happen, wouldn't it be easier to live our lives?

For many, not knowing their future is unnerving and unsettling and they resort to ways and means of getting hints and clues.

Many resort to their horoscope, or make visits to Fortune Tellers or Tarot card readers, something that has happened for thousands of years.

Isn't it amazing, that here we are in the year 2,000 and far from living and prospering in a wonderful Technological age, with superstition, the Psychic and the occult as things of the past.

Wouldn't you have thought, that by now our wonderfully advanced Science and Technology would have proven beyond doubt that there was no substance to such things and would have replaced such superstition, with a scientific, factual based blueprint for living.

Why is it then, that this is not the case? in fact more and more people than ever before are relying on fortune telling, Psychics and the occult as a means of indicating the future?

So many people

Is it the case that majority of people believe there is something beyond Science and Technology, beyond us in fact, but that they don't know what that something is? it is just a very private belief that they cannot explain. The something they believe cannot be explained.

Many other people today are living without even the hope of something, in a state of hopelessness, despair, with a sense of 'what's the point of it all!

Many are chasing the illusion of eternal life, relying on Science and Technology to give them the means by which they can preserve themselves, or live forever.

For generations it has been taught that christianity provides a means of inheriting eternal life. Let us take a look at this question of eternal life from the perspective of the Bible.

Why the Bible, can't we just talk about it?

If we just discuss things, it is the sharing of opinions, not based upon anything other than theories, what other people think, or what has been written about in the past, these are also opinions.

Hasn't Science and Technology proven most things by now? Do we see evidence of this? it seems that all we see is that Science and Technology cannot prove anything unless it can be proven, tested and repeated. So how can it test that something that is bigger and beyond us,

That something that we believe is there but we don't know what it is?

For instance Science and Technology is no good to us when we talk about the future, it can only look at things in the past and postulate and create theories about the future. Best guesses or educated opinions.

If we are going to base our future on something I believe we need something more substantial than, best guesses and opinions, don't you?

Therefore, one thing we need to do is to consider the Bible. In doing so we must either totally reject the Bible the Word of God as fantasy, which would then bring us round to a point of no discussion. Or we must totally accept that the Bible is indeed what it says it is, the very Word of God.

After all if it is part true and part false, who is the one to decide which bits are true and which bits are false?

So let us assume for the sake of progressing in the discussion that The Bible, the Word of God is indeed true, now we can set the ground rule based on the Word of God. that all Scripture is God breathed, which means we have to look at and consider every word in the Bible, not just consider some bits and reject others

Now the bible says that we are composed of three parts

may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless (1 Thess 5:23)

We are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. You cannot kill a spirit, which means we all have eternal life, we will all live forever, the truth is we get to choose where we spend eternity

The Bible says it can either be in Heaven or in Hell, our choice

So now the question is not what religion a choose, nor even if I don't choose any, the question is you get to choose your eternal future, your eternal destiny.

Once you physically die and your spirit and soul separate from yopur body, your opportunity to choose is lost and gone forever. We must make the choice whilst we are still in our physical body.

Why wouldn't you choose to go to heaven as opposed to going to hell? I don't know other than remembering what I said, 'Why do I have to believe in something, I have a free mind' and so you have, go ahead and choose free man.

You see many people think that God is forcing them into a 'Jesus club', or a religion, a way of life or a set of Doctrines.

Unfortunately, many enthusiastic Christians have begun to force their beliefs on other people, creating resistance, disinterest and even antagonism.

But in reality, God is not forcing anyone to do anything, on the contrary he is the one who has given us this free will and the right to choose, he says

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing (Deut 30:19)

But then he gives us a clue and says; therefore choose life,

He tells us that there are two choices, both eternal, either life forever with him, together with blessings in this life. Or else cusrsings in this life and death forever without God, in a place of hell. A place that was never meant for us, it was meant for Satan and his demons

It is so important to understand, that many, many people have bee turned off God, because they thought he was trying to force them to do things. People try to force you to do things, as a method of control, God never will.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jer 29:12)

God is constantly thinking about us and our future, he wants us to make the right choice, but he has given us the free will

What does the Bible say about those who do not choose life?

Ps 37:38 The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

What does he say about this present life for the man that chooses life?

Ps 37:37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.

Jer 31:17 There is hope in your future, says the LORD,

Hope and Hopelessness

we are living in a time where there is a sense of hopelessness, a generation of people without hope, particularly many young people.

Many have placed their hope in the things around them or in people they know and lost hope because things did not happen the way they expect or want, or when people they know let them down, they become disillusioned.

When we place our hope in the things around us and in other people we will end up disillusioned every single time.

Why is this?

Proverbs 13:12 gives us the answer hope deferred makes the heart sick � we start to operate out of a sick spirit.

This leads us to Depression, rejection, anger and loneliness.

So how can you have hope in your future?

The first step is to make the choice between life and death, blessings and cursings. Blessings in this life and Eternal life with God, or Cursings in this life and eternal life without God, in a place far worse than anything you can imagine

It's your choice, but I urge you, choose life
