High School Graduation Speeches - If you’re one of the valedictorians for your school, you might find yourself expected to give a speech about the past four years that you’ve spent at high school. If you don’t have a lot of experience giving speeches, the prospect of giving high school graduation speeches might seem frightening to you – after all, what should you talk about? Luckily, there are a lot of options, and a lot of groups that will help you get your speech written. After all, if you ask any of your favorite teachers, they’ll be sure to help you get your speech just right before you go up to give it in front of everybody.
Some things that you should think about mentioning in your speech are important things that people in your class have succeeded at. For instance, if your graduating class contained students who brought your football or basketball team to its first state championship, then that would be a good thing to mention. Other things you could talk about include important events that brought your class closer together.
The most important thing to consider when you’re writing high school graduation speeches is that you’re supposed to make people who are at the graduation feel nostalgic and happy that they’ve graduated. You might want to offer some advice for the future, or even just tell people to continue on the way that they have been. Something to consider, however, is that while it’s fun and easy to compliment your friends and talk about things that were between you, it’s not fair to the rest of the people who are there graduating. Therefore, you should also try to keep all of your speech as general as possible so you include everybody in your class.
High school graduation speeches are also a good place to show off what you’ve learned in your English classes. After all, there are lots of different quotes and poems that you can put in your speech to make it sound more mature.
Some other things that you should consider adding to high school graduation speeches include thanking your parents and teachers. After all, while you did all the class work, your parents and teachers supported you through all of your years at school.
