Portland Community College - While most people who go to college in Portland attend a university, there is also Portland Community College for students who couldn’t attend the university – or for students who want to save money on the first four years of their college experience. In fact, it’s recommended that you go to community college for two years if you don’t have enough money for university. You can even go to community college first if you do have the money to pay for university – you might as well save your money if you can!
This is due to the fact that, like most community colleges, Portland Community College offers classes at lower costs. You also shouldn’t worry about being able to get into this college, since it allows most people who apply admission. There are three different types of enrollment plans, however, and each has a different type of application process. These three types of enrollment plans are credit, non credit and dual enrollment.
The credit enrollment is exactly what it sounds like. You’ve enrolled in the college to earn credit toward a degree, or to earn credit so that you can eventually transfer to a four-year university. If you’re looking for a dual-enrollment plan, then you can apply to be enrolled both in Portland Community College and Portland State University at the same time. This is ideal if some of the classes you’d like to take are not offered at the community college.
Finally, non-credit enrollment is designed for people who are not working toward a degree, but who still want to take classes. This program is designed for people who want to go back to school but who already have their own job or career. Also, this community college also offers a distance education program for people who either can’t get to campus on a regular basis, or for people who are too busy to attend class regularly.
Once you’ve determined what program you’re going to apply to, you should fill out an application form for Portland Community College as soon as you can. This way, it makes it more likely that you’ll be able to get into the program you want – though it’s almost guaranteed anyway. Don’t worry, and save money by applying to a community college in your area today.
