High School Graduation Songs - The most common of all high school graduation songs is probably “pomp and Circumstance”. From the title, you’re probably thinking that you’ve never heard it, but really, you have. This is the song that is played when the graduating students walk out into the room where they’ll be receiving their diplomas. This song is usually played in a loop, though the number of loops generally depends on how many students are going to graduate.
The song was first used as a graduation song when the musician who wrote it received an honorary degree from Yale. After that, it started to be used at colleges, and finally at high schools. Now, it’s known as the graduation song of choice for most graduation ceremonies in the United States.
Most high school graduations use more than just that song, in fact, a lot of schools go out of their way to find good high school graduation songs. The types of songs that most people look for are songs that remind them of being younger, or songs that seem to have nostalgic themes. One reason for this is simply that these songs fit the feeling of graduating, but another reason is that a lot of older people who are attending the graduation of their child see it as an opportunity to reminisce about the past.
If you’re looking for graduation song suggestions, it’s a good idea to think about which songs are reminiscent of earlier times in the lives of the graduates. The best way to find out is to take a poll or ask some of the students in the graduating class which songs remind them the most of being in high school, or of just generally being younger.
Another good way to find high school graduation songs is to pick the top songs in the year that the graduates were born in. Of course, some of the students would have been born in a different year than others – but that’s good because it gives you a choice of two years to pick songs from.
However, if it’s important to use a classic song, then you should definitely choose “pomp and Circumstance”. This is the most popular of the high school graduation songs – and for good reason.
