College Of Dupage - In this brief article we give the interested reader a brief overview of the College of Dupage. College of DuPage offers courses and programs that span a broad range of interests and ages. Looking to start your college career here and end it with a four-year degree? We offer more than 35 programs with degrees that transfer to baccalaureate-granting institutions. What if you want to enter the workforce more quickly?
C.O.D. offers two-year degrees and certificates that allow you to do so. Continuing Education offers courses for almost all ages, whether it’s a one-time special interest class, seminars or those for kids and teens or older adults. Local businesses and organizations can receive training and assistance through the Business and Professional Institute. Finally, our developmental programs cover such topics as English as a Second Language, GED and citizenship.
The College of Dupage maintains a significant program for international studies and students from abroad. As the College of Dupage has announced recently:
“one of the largest and most comprehensive community colleges in the United States, College of DuPage has earned a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence. We are located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a Chicago suburb about 35 miles west of the city. Approximately 34,000 students attend classes at C.O.D. in more than 200 different programs of study.
“college of DuPage provides students with the first two years of undergraduate coursework in liberal arts and sciences and pre-professional programs, preparing them to successfully transfer to a four-year baccalaureate institution (more than 40 percent of international students at C.O.D. transfer to four-year institutions, both private and state, in Illinois and throughout the U.S.). College of DuPage also offers more than 50 occupational and certificate areas of study for students who wish to pursue immediate employment after graduation. In addition, we offer an intensive English as a Second Language program through the International English Language Institute (E.L.I).”
