Chaffey College reports that it is part of a large educational service district. “the college district serves the population of the vibrant inland empire of western San Bernardino County, where the communities of Chino, Chino Hills, Fontana, Guasti, Montclair, Mt. Baldy, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga (Alta Loma, Cucamonga, and Etiwanda), and Upland are located. Four districts serving high school students are contained in these communities. They are the Chaffey Joint Union High School, the Chino Unified School District, the Fontana Unified School District, and the Upland Unified School District.”
Chaffey College prides itself on its active career services center. Career Services is comprised of Student Employment and Cooperative Education/Work Experience.
Student Employment provides job and internship referrals for current and former Chaffey College students. The office maintains a listing of jobs and internships available both on and off campus. Cooperative Education/Work experience provides students with the opportunity to use their part-time, full-time work study or internship position to earn elective units of credit. Cooperative Education can also assist students in making effective career choices, and in developing lifetime career development plans.
Students attend career related seminars, complete an end of term project and participate in valuable evaluation experiences to help them develop a long term career plan. Enroll in a Cooperative Education class during registration. Co-op staff members are available to answer questions at 941-2499. The Career Services Office is located in Campus Center East and is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; closed daily for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
