Pharmacy Faculty Position - With most colleges, the pharmacy faculty position will play a very important role. If you have a strong career and background in pharmacy and medicine, you’ll be the perfect candidate for this position. A lot of universities and colleges all over the United States are always looking for ideal candidates to fulfill this position.
Those who have graduated from college with a career in pharmacy or medicine will more than likely be the best candidates. If a university or college looks at your past history and sees that you have a strong working knowledge of pharmacy; you’ll more than likely secure the position.
Applicants for a pharmacy faculty position must possess an earned doctorate in pharmacy administration, public health, or another relevant discipline. If you have the required education, you should pursue this position. A faculty position can prove to be a very challenging and also a very rewarding career.
Applicants for this position will be expected and sometimes required to pursue research in one of the following areas – drug policy, pharmaceutical care, health, pharmaceutical marketing, or social behavioral research. In most cases, preference will be given to those applicants who possess an undergraduate pharmacy degree.
While the requirements may appear to be somewhat strict and demanding, the pharmacy faculty position is well worth it. You’ll get the chance to stay in a career that you love, and help others learn it as well! Teaching something you enjoy is truly invaluable – considering you’ll be helping others learn what you enjoyed learning yourself.
With most pharmacy graduates, this career is something that is truly one in a million. There are actually some people out there who go into a pharmacy career with the hopes of one day being a teacher. Whenever this position opens up, there are normally a lot of candidates that apply.
