Eastern Michigan University - Eastern Michigan University, which has been preparing teachers since it was established in 1849, is one of the largest producers of educational personnel in the country.
The formal College of Education was established in 1959 and offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Eastern Michigan University’s COE is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
It would be difficult to write a book about how to become a teacher and not have some mention of Eastern Michigan University and its long tradition of producing some of the best educational personnel in the country. So Eastern Michigan University is heavily featured in U.S. News and World Report’s recently published book, Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Teacher.

Eastern Michigan University offers its 24,000 students everything from undergraduate programs to Honors programs. As well as full time courses, students can opt for part-time study and even online tuition.
And there is a bustling athletics scene. Eastern Michigan University offers twenty-one NCAA Division I Varsity sports for men and women. Eastern Michigan Unigersity also competes in the Mid-American Conference, which comprises fourteen universities in Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Ohio and West Virginia.
