Central Piedmont Community College - Central Piedmont Community College with its massive 60,000 enrollment is recognized as one of the leading community colleges in the United States.
On a recent visit, President George W. Bush himself said: "this is such a hopeful campus. It’s a place where the future is brighter for people who come here. I met with some business leaders earlier who were touting the virtues of Piedmont Community College’s ability to use their ideas and incorporate them into a curriculum so that the programs train people for jobs which actually exist. And that’s an important part of making sure our economy, which is the strongest in the world today, remains the strongest in the world."
Central Piedmont Community College is a public, non-residential, two-year community college with six full-service campuses in Charlotte. Students represent more than 160 nationalities.
Founded in 1963, Central Piedmont Community College is the largest in the 59-college North Carolina community college system.
In 2002 the National Center for Educational Accountability named Central Piedmont Community College Community College of the Year for the entire United States. Additionally, Central Piedmont Community College is a member of the prestigious League for Innovation in the Community College, a consortium of twenty of the nation’s finest two-year colleges. Central Piedmont Community College offers more than 100 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that cover nearly any subject area.
