An example of a nearly ripe Red Fleshed Dragonfruit.

Originating in the northern parts of South America, over one hundred years ago they were introduced into Vietnam, where the then King after tasting them declared them to be a royal fruit.  Since then Vietnam has embraced them and now feel them to be a native of the region. The fruit now grows throughout South-east Asia and is now starting to develop a market within Australia.  The red fleshed Dragonfruit has a light sweet flavour with a slight perfumed after taste, it leaves the mouth refreshed and wanting more.
