Information for clients
When you have decided to get a web site made
This information is necessary if you want a more accurate quote. Include everything you want on your web site. It's ok if you want to add things later, but it's more cost effective for you if you have most of it decided in the beginning to be included in your package deal.
Doing this homework will also give you a good idea about the structure of your web site and how it will all fit together. If you didn't know where to start, this is it :)
Please ask if you need any help or further information, I am more than happy to assist you.
The form will guide you and also make a more accurate estimate possible.

These are the questions you need to ask yourself before we can begin.
How many pages do you need?
To get a rough idea, check out my portfolio page, some of these sites have many pages, some just a few, it depends on your message you wish to communicate (How much you wish to say) or amount of items you wish to sell. A good guide is 200-300 words per page.
How many images do you need?
One image per page is generally fine if content is more important. More often though people opt for 3 images per page. If you are selling a product, then how many items are you selling? That's how many images you need. Add an extra 3 images to the total, because I guarantee you will want to add images, either for the top navigation or for a page you didn't think about at the start. Do not worry though, you wont be charged for them if you don't use them.

Once we begin
What you need to do
Step 1
Decide on a domain name you want (include 3 variations incase they are taken). If you want a .com (14.00) or a .com.au (60.00) - two years. You will need hosting, I can arrange this as part of your package with your domain name. Or purchase your own hosting for $98 per year.
We can work one page at a time so you wont feel overwhelmed.
Step 2
Write in a text file or email what you want your first page to say. This can either be a 'welcome' page or an 'about us' page.
Many people have both, one to welcome the visitor and give a general outline about what you are selling or service you are offering, the 'about us' page would contain information on the business, how long it's been in operation, what skills it possesses, how many staff are employed, what the business does in more detail etc. Some businesses and individuals need this page, some do not. Keep in mind the more pages you have the more it costs. A good guide is 200-300 words per page.
Step 3
Decide what image you would like on this page, whether it be an image you have already or one you plan on acquiring, leave a space for it.
Do this for each page you require.
Check out the other sites in the portfolio for ideas.
Write the content into a text file or straight into an email is fine, include the images you want.
Before we proceed with the design, you will need to sign and return the contract form, by fax or email.

It's a good idea to look around the net and see what other site designs you like, what colour schemes you like, this gives us a good starting point. Copy and paste the web addresses to me.

Bunbury Web Design will optimise your keywords and descriptions for search engines, sort out the back end code, create your template for future pages, setup your email account with your hosting and domain name, include your free statcounter and put all your raw information together into an awesome design! |
