A nocturnal geocaching adventure.WARNING - this page contains spoilers! Once upon a time there was an unloved cache (GCJBK1) which had not been found for 461 days. On a mild September night in 2005, sixtynine and alpha993 set out to brave the darkness and find the cache. The starting point for the trek was off the Apollo Road in the Namadgi National Park. Armed with several torches, 2 GPS units and plenty of water, we set off. The straight line distance (yellow line) from the nearest car park was approx 2.5km. The actual track is shown in the images below and was about 3.5km (7km return). The altitude change was unfortunately not captured. The pictures tell the rest of the story - the whole adventure took about 3 hours (in 2130hrs, out 0030hrs) and is highly recommended.
