The people
I found everyone in Kuala Lumpur was very friendly and helpful. Most speak some English.
Kuala Lumpur taxi drivers were all chatty and wanted to know where I came from. Some had relatives here.
Ladies dressed in traditional Muslim garments seem to comprise about 30-40%.
Some had just the headscarves and top with jeans, others wear the full robes---though I rarely saw the full burka with face hidden. The clothes seem very sensible for the hot climate. The head scarves are made with a small peak which acts as a sort of sun visor to protect the face.
Without exception, those wearing the full robes were dressed immaculately---always very colorful and spotlessly clean.
The little girls coming home from school in their full robes looked really cute, and always immaculate.
Everyone seems well integrated, often walking around in groups of apparently mixed religions.
Ladies shopping. Cleaning ladies are everywhere.
More ladies shopping.
Kids coming home from school. Note little girl in full robes.
